Big Blue is hardly a tiny house, clocking in at almost 400 sq ft of living space including loft area. The 32′ by 8′ trailer it sits on is custom built and maintains three axles. Not conventionally framed with wood, Blue was built with Light-Gauge Steel Structurally Insulated Panels. These modular pre-insulated wall systems provide an R value of 32, drastically reducing the need to heating&cooling. Additionally, the SIP framing system is forty percent lighter than traditional wood framing.
Big Blue was featured at Home&Garden shows, Microliving Events, on HGTV, and most recently at the Innovative Housing Forum in Washington D.C. where Secretary Ben Carson visited and tour the tiny home. Blue was one of only two tiny homes at HUD’s 2019 event, making a lasting impression on the attendees. Come visit our Phoenix warehouse and take a tour of it yourself!
